Q: What opportunities does FBLA offer?

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is the nation’s largest student-run business organization. It prepares students by teaching leadership, business concepts, financial literacy, and career preparation.

Our chapter offers:

Chapter and Individual Projects
3 chapter project committees (American Enterprise, Community Service, Partnership with Business)
5 individual projects (Green Initiative, Financial Literacy, Leaders in Action, Professional Profile, Business Achievement Awards)
Business Tours (on hold for now)
Guest Speakers
Competitions
Over 70 competitions with varied focuses (comprehensive list of all competitions can be found here)
Conferences
Regional: Bay Section Leadership Conference
State: California State Leadership Conference
National: National Leadership Conference (Anaheim, CA 2021)

Q: What classes are recognized as CTE courses?

Q: Do I need to take a CTE course to be a member of FBLA?

You do NOT need to take a CTE course to be a member of FBLA! You must have taken a CTE course, or currently be enrolled in one if you’d like to compete in competitions. You do not need to have taken a CTE course if you want to participate in projects, chapter/individual projects, business tours, and/or the Executive Leadership program


Q: Can I take a CTE course outside of CHS?

You must take your CTE course at CHS as part of your schedule if you’d like to compete in FBLA. You cannot take it outside of CHS.


Q: What should I do if I missed a meeting?

If you miss a meeting, no worries! Make sure to read our debrief email (sent out after every member meeting), check our Facebook Page, and/or follow up with another FBLA member/officer.


Q: When are the socials?

The timings for the socials will be available in our debrief emails as well as on our Facebook Page and website. As of now, the tentative dates for the socials are as follows; Projects Social-Oct 2, Competition Social-Oct 9, Initiation Social-Oct 16.
